boom....

It's been a busy old week round here with lots happening as usual but it's surprising how much sewing you can squeeze in when you're fuelled by coffee right?!

This week I've managed to sew month two blocks in both the Amitie Gypsy Wife and Fat Quarter Shop 2012 Mystery Designer BOM's.

I'm really pleased with how these blocks have turned out and even though I lost some points along the way I'm happy in the knowledge that all this precision piecing is making me a more proficient sewer!!

I've also managed to finish the Spring Carnival EPP and get it appliqued onto the background:

This is just waiting to be quilted so I can turn it into a huge pillow for the new sofa!! Eeeep!!

Remember the two baby quilts in my last post? Well the super fast Trudi has quilted them and got them back to me today. Woo Hoo!!

These two cute baby quilts will be bound and delivered to their new owners over the weekend! The strip quilt on the left is made from Cloud 9 flannels and the quilt on the right is made from Posy by Aneela Hoey. The Posy quilt is also made from the newly released FREE pattern by the Fat Quarter Shop - Jelly Roll Jam.

Finally, I couldn't leave without showing you this picture

This little monster is suddenly obsessed with his Dad and on this particular day made me read this book about 100 times. He spent the whole day shouting 'DAD' whilst searching the house for him!!! Oh to be loved!!

getting stuff done!

In my usual style of not quite getting the frequency of my blog posts right, I now find myself with lots to tell you!!

Grab a coffee and make yourself comfy then!

I've decided that the rest of the year will be spent busting my huge pile of WIPs. I've made a really good start on this over the last couple of weeks thank goodness.

The top picture is a cushion front for my niece, it will also have her initial appliqued to the front. The bottom two pictures are of quilt tops that I've made for one of my gym instructors who has recently had twin girls!! Both these are at the lovely Trudi's been quilted now and I should be able to gift them next weekend! Yay!!

As well as lots of sewing going on there has been lots of fun happening too! I've been and supported my gym buddies doing the infamous Spartan race, I was pretty gutted my knee wouldn't allow me to participate this year but I'm game for next year!

The hubs and I also managed a great night out on Friday when we went to watch the Kaiser Chief's gig at the new Leeds Arena! They were amazing!

And finally here's what I'm sewing today. Two quilt blocks, one from the Amitie Textiles BOM from last year Gypsy Wife and one from the Fat Quarter Shop  Mystery BOM also last years!!!

Happy Monday, hope you get some sewing in too xxxx
